How we hire

We have partnered with Omni Resourcing Management Solutions, who work with us to ensure that candidates have a great hiring experience from the first point of contact.
Once your application is received, it is reviewed by one of our recruiters to assess whether you meet the essential criteria for the role. If you meet those criteria, our recruiter will contact you to arrange an informal telephone interview.
Depending on the outcome of the initial telephone interview, you might be invited to subsequent interview stages where you will be assessed for technical and behavioural competencies.

Disability Confident Scheme

What we mean by minimum criteria

Minimum criteria are the essential requirements that are outlined in the job specification for each role.
At Ofcom, essential requirements may include qualifications, experience and skills and are scored on the level of evidence provided on the application. To be successful at shortlisting stage and be invited for first stage interview, applicants should achieve an aggregate score of 60% of the total possible marks across the essential requirements. However, candidates scoring below 25% in any of the essential criteria will not be invited to interview.

What we mean by first stage interview

First stage interviews at Ofcom can take different forms, dependent on the role and discipline. They can include a formal telephone interview with the hiring manager, a pre-recorded one-way video interview / presentation, a face-to-face video interview with the hiring manager or multi-colleague panel Interview.
